My name is Tina Turpin and I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist and have worked with hundreds of clients.
I am a BACP-certified counsellor, who takes an empathetic, integrative approach to helping my clients reach their potential as people.
Every one of us is different, and as such I tailor my approach to each individual client’s needs and focus closely on the client-therapist relationship. For me, respect, trust and empowerment are fundamental to this relationship.
I work particularly with anxiety, stress, depression, post-natal depression, relationship issues, infidelity, anger management, coping with family issues, loss and bereavement. I focus very much on the relationship between client and therapist - a working relationship that is built on respect, trust and empowerment, within a secure and confidential environment.
As a volunteer counsellor for the Fountain Centre (based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital) I have counselled patients with cancer, their families and their carers. This work has been instrumental to my practice, giving me an insight into coping with illness, bereavement and loss.
I have worked within the NHS as a nurse and midwife for over ten years. This has given me extensive experience of working with people which has enhanced my work as a counsellor.
